The ’50’s were a great time for the Band when it was virtually unbeatable - some of the leading personalities of the day, such as Jimmy Shepherd, recently voted the World’s greatest Cornet Player (along side Mr Arban presumably?) and esteemed Cornet Player David Read - now a respected Adjudicator and Writer were counted amongst our ranks….

The CMFCB Broadcasting Band in 1952, just prior to the Band embarking upon a third tour of Holland. Quite a bond was formed between CMFCB and the Netherlands as it is believed we were amongst the first English band’s to give a concert there after the war, along with Foden’s Motor works Band and Farey Aviation….
